Toukley Brass Monkey - NSW

Hi,

I am considering driving down for this regatta on the June long weekend.

6 Races over the 3 days, they have a cat 16ft plus division.

I would be cat rig plus kite as kids with their mum.

Ben (Top Gun) - any chance you may be available and/or want to sail?

Michael (Tsunami) - are you interested?

Could put your cat upside down on my boat & trailer and travel down in my van with all the gear.

Just a thought at this stage to sound out interest.

It's this or the Wivenhoe marathon race here in Qld if they are running it.

Let me know as we could end up with 3 mossies at the race with spinnaker.

Any body sailed this regatta? Any comments?

Sounds like a good idea. What kinds of accommodation are available near or at the venue? I have a cousins wedding sometime around then, i cant remember the exact date, so ill find out and hopefully ill be free that weekend.

mmmmmmm........ could be on given this level of response from all.

Perhaps we should make this the state titles.......!!

Will look into accomodation options.
May be just the tent but will check it out and advise.

There is a caravan park at Budgewoi 10min away and at Mannering park 20min away. If you Google them you should be able to find them. It is a long week end so get in early.

P.S. With Mannering park only an easy 15 to 20min drive away it would be a good time to check it out before the nationals.

Hey just remebered the Beachcomber Hotel at Toukley has more up market accomodation plus a bistro and bar. Just a 10min walk right on the lake.

What and miss either chipping the ice of our boats or slushing around in the mud and the rain, before either drifting around in the fog or getting blown off the water by a Southerly front with sub zero winds.

No way wouldn't miss the Sauna Sail for anything, will be 10 plus Mossies and the biggest mixed regatta in Vic, see they have capped entries at 170 this year .

Maybe another time, Tim and I where discussing Forster Wildcat, during the trip to Adelaide. Nice and central for the QLD guy's, if you can guarantee being there as it gets closer you might get some spinnaker Vic's. We love the way it rains up there every year, don't get to see real rain here.
Whats that saying, "come to Victoria, where it rains enough to get your car dirty, but not enough to wash it" .

I'll have to agree with Gary. I would have considered it but I'm afraid the Sauna Sail is way too big to miss.

Perhaps we could lock the wildcat regatta in as well?

Chuffed that you Vic guys would consider travelling so far.

I even thought about going to sauna to mix it with yourselves but could not do it this year.

Love a good road trip, plan was to have a traveller calendar on the up coming web site to help program the regattas and which ones to attend.

This is getting bigger every day.

I am a starter, my other half may tag along as well for the trip.

Just waiting to see if Michael will be coming as well - Michael ? if you are coming do you want to double up on trailer?

Waiting on responses from some accom. - probably staying at caravan park - they have some cabins at reasonable rates.

Plan to arrive Sat morning and leave late Mon arvo.

Any further thoughts on commitment by the East Coast Mossies to this regatta? I know it is early but I will have to plan well ahead being school holidays and all.

I see over on catsailor.net that the organisers are asking about classes that want to be involved etc. Would be a good idea to contact them if you can get the East Coast Mossies together and I will then try to get some commitments from Vic Mossies.
