I shouldn't be bothered by making a larger hole on both sides of the remaining tang in the hull. Yyou can always fill this up later and repair it with pieces of laminate padwise. So make room, don't go tinkering in a too small workarea. If you have

Morris, I just got the same issue last week end with my Prindle 18.2. The bridle wire tang broke out exactly the same way than yours. I was just curious to know how you eventually managed to fix it? Pierre

Thanks for the input Jake. I will surely take all of that into consideration! I see you are out of SC, lucky guy. We are currently in TN, about 30 min from Land Between the Lakes, but are currently looking for land to purchase in SC.

Check with Craig at Performance Sailing Center in Cocoa Beach. Just up the coast from you. He still has a beach front launching area in Melbourne. He always has something laying around and or can get you something. 321-613-5655

If I understand correctly beam failure caused Artemis's destruction, if so at a minimum they would need to rejig their beams on the second boat. I think the boat is supposed to be designed by the nation it's representing but they could give the kiwi'
