Yep - the front two can go just forward of the front beam, and the back two go just forward of the rear beam. That'll keep your hulls off the ground. Easiest way, track it into position, lift the bows to pull the trax, and set it on the front scales.

I think I saw a similar post somewhere else. One of the real keys will be hooking up with some other cat sailors to help you. Probably learn more in a weekend with them than all summer by yourself. Also, you can read up on it. Get a copy of Rick

I think you're right! But, if you don't have enough money for a custom motorcycle with an airplane engine, you can always build an... Air Bike! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOyjyU36qBU After a few beers, I decided to take a Cub up for a joy

I shouldn't be bothered by making a larger hole on both sides of the remaining tang in the hull. Yyou can always fill this up later and repair it with pieces of laminate padwise. So make room, don't go tinkering in a too small workarea. If you have

Thanks for the input Jake. I will surely take all of that into consideration! I see you are out of SC, lucky guy. We are currently in TN, about 30 min from Land Between the Lakes, but are currently looking for land to purchase in SC.

Check with Craig at Performance Sailing Center in Cocoa Beach. Just up the coast from you. He still has a beach front launching area in Melbourne. He always has something laying around and or can get you something. 321-613-5655

No worries Sam, back to the Blades here's a better perspective photo my daughter Maeve took of Darryl Barrett being chased by Emile Barrett at the Rum Race in 2011, wasn't quite as windy but still lumpy.

Those guys have some serious, serious balls. Ain't no stock H21 in those videos but still a testament to how well built the Hobie line is in general. Wouldn't have wanted anything else in the 30 kts of breeze downwind run we did 2 years ago in the NC
