Just a heads up so you can get this event on your schedule. The Catamaran Association of Wisconsin (CRAW) is hosting a combined NACRA and F18 North American Championship in 2010. The combined event will be held August 9 thru the 13th 2010 (5 days of racing).
This event will be sailed on Lake Michigan in Racine WI and is located adjacent to the Racine Yacht Club (RYC). If you have ever done a Nationals or a CRAW regatta at Racine you know that this is a great site with lots of beach and the RYC is a first rate facility. CRAW has started its planning and anticipates that the NOR and registration for the event will be on-line by January 31, 2010. Hotel and camping information will also be provided at that time.
If you attended the NACRA Nationals in 2006 you know that CRAW puts on a good show and we plan on an even better experience in 2010. CRAW & RYC will also be hosting a pre-nationals regatta the weekend prior to the event so you have a chance to get in a solid 7 days of sailing if you want.
This event has a chance to break the 100 boat mark but we are going to need your support and you need to start planning to attend now!!
If you think you are going to attend than chime in. If you know someone who should attend let them know and have them chime in. Let's get a list of attendees going.

I'll go first Ed WInders I20 sail #1050

I'm probably out. I'll have either sold my Capricorn by then or I'll have found a dead end, low paying job with little or no vacation time to be able to attend.

All right this is what I mean about letting us know you plan on being at Racine
What about the West coast boys?? East Coast?? Texas, FLA?? Maybe we should have a contest to see what area can generate the most entries. Base it on the US sailing Areas. I'll donate a bottle or two the winning area if that’s what it takes

I will most likely be on the trailer with JW. I heard his boat is for sale so I hope he is still sailing then. grin

We thought we had Ian on the trailer as well but he may not have a boat at that time. On the other hand there should be one more to take his place. We should have many who want to go from here.

Later,
Dan

Wasn't there talk about possibly hosting a F16 nationals with this as well? Or, has that been shelved?

Apparently the F16 guys talked about it amongst themselves.

I swear they, (CRAW folk), were talking about it at the last CRAW regatta I went to.

I'm probably in either way. Seems foolish to not participate in something so close to home.

We talked about it in a thread, but never got together at the Global Challenge in Florida....I guess that's my fault. I took too much on and wasn't able to get some of us together to discuss a little.

probably should bring that thread back, or start making a few phone calls. smile

There will be no F16's at Racine during the Nacra and NAF-18 Championship in 2010. Sorry, but that is the way it is, don't start another thread. Of course the weekend regatta prior to the big event is open to F16's.

Thank you! It's been awful dull of late, over on the F16 forum! laugh Maybe that will change now.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I know it sucks right now, but things will change and we'll probably have a spot on a double stack for you.
