MOre cannon fodder, or is it?
By: Wayne Allyn Root
May 30, 2012
Most political predictions are made by biased pollsters, pundits, or prognosticators who are either rooting for Republicans or Democrats. I am neither. I am a former Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee, and a well-known Vegas odds maker with one of the most accurate records of predicting political races.
But as an odds maker with a pretty remarkable track record of picking political races, I play no favorites. I simply use common sense to call them as I see them. Back in late December I released my New Years Predictions. I predicted back then- before a single GOP primary had been held, with Romney trailing for months to almost every GOP competitor from Rick Perry to Herman Cain to Newt- that Romney would easily rout his competition to win the GOP nomination by a landslide. I also predicted that the Presidential race between Obama and Romney would be very close until Election Day. But that on Election Day Romney would win by a landslide similar to Reagan-Carter in 1980.
Understanding history, today I am even more convinced of a resounding Romney victory. 32 years ago at this moment in time, Reagan was losing by 9 points to Carter. Romney is right now running even in polls. So why do most pollsters give Obama the edge?
First, most pollsters are missing one ingredient- common sense. Here is my gut instinct. Not one American who voted for McCain 4 years ago will switch to Obama. Not one in all the land. But many millions of people who voted for an unknown Obama 4 years ago are angry, disillusioned, turned off, or scared about the future. Voters know Obama now- and that is a bad harbinger.
Now to an analysis of the voting blocks that matter in U.S. politics:
*Black voters. Obama has nowhere to go but down among this group. His endorsement of gay marriage has alienated many black church-going Christians. He may get 88% of their vote instead of the 96% he got in 2008. This is not good news for Obama.
*Hispanic voters. Obama has nowhere to go but down among this group. If Romney picks Rubio as his VP running-mate the GOP may pick up an extra 10% to 15% of Hispanic voters (plus lock down Florida). This is not good news for Obama.
*Jewish voters. Obama has been weak in his support of Israel. Many Jewish voters and big donors are angry and disappointed. I predict Obama's Jewish support drops from 78% in 2008 to the low 60’s. This is not good news for Obama.
*Youth voters. Obama’s biggest and most enthusiastic believers from 4 years ago have graduated into a job market from hell. Young people are disillusioned, frightened, and broke- a bad combination. The enthusiasm is long gone. Turnout will be much lower among young voters, as will actual voting percentages. This not good news for Obama.
*Catholic voters. Obama won a majority of Catholics in 2008. That won’t happen again. Out of desperation to please women, Obama went to war with the Catholic Church over contraception. Now he is being sued by the Catholic Church. Majority lost. This is not good news for Obama.
*Small Business owners. Because I ran for Vice President last time around, and I'm a small businessman myself, I know literally thousands of small business owners. At least 40% of them in my circle of friends, fans and supporters voted for Obama 4 years ago to “give someone different a chance. I warned them that he would pursue a war on capitalism and demonize anyone who owned a business...that he’d support unions over the private sector in a big way...that he'd overwhelm the economy with spending and debt. My friends didn’t listen. Four years later, I can't find one person in my circle of small business owner friends voting for Obama. Not one. This is not good news for Obama.
*Blue collar working class whites. Do I need to say a thing? White working class voters are about as happy with Obama as Boston Red Sox fans feel about the New York Yankees. This is not good news for Obama.
*Suburban moms. The issue isn’t contraception…it’s having a job to pay for conttraception. Obama’s economy frightens these moms. They are worried about putting food on the table. They fear for their children’s future. This is not good news for Obama.
*Military Veterans. McCain won this group by 10 points. Romney is winning by 24 points. The more our military vets got to see of Obama, the more they disliked him. This is not good news for Obama.
Add it up. Is there one major group where Obama has gained since 2008? Will anyone in America wake up on election day saying “I didn’t vote for Obama 4 years ago. But he’s done such a fantastic job, I can’t wait to vote for him today. Does anyone feel that a vote for Obama makes their job more secure?
Forget the polls. My gut instincts as a Vegas odds maker and common sense small businessman tell me this will be a historic landslide and a world-class repudiation of Obama’s radical and risky socialist agenda. It's Reagan-Carter all over again.
But I’ll give Obama credit for one thing- he is living proof that familiarity breeds contempt.
REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR THE WINNER IN NOVEMBER & MAKE SURE EVERYONE YOU KNOW DOES TOO!!!!

Hello, human diary. It is I again, Mitt Romney, your better.
I am in a good mood today, Mr. Diary, perhaps in part because I am currently full of diet sodas. Today I truly gave the president a large what-for. He had implied that I had embraced a policy of wealth distribution that was in opposition to that once hypothesized by a pre-industrial English forest man of some repute, a supposition which resulted in much guffawing from his audience. I responded by saying that if I were to respond, which I was not saying I would be, I would respond by suggesting in turn that his ideas were similar to processed luncheon meats. After having a small taste of my own rapier wit, I think he shall think additional times before engaging me in a battle of humors.
The search for a vice presidential unit continues to drag on. Our determination to choose a white male with no particular charismatic skills has not, as it turns out, done much to narrow the field of candidates. I have gotten exceedingly bored with the entire affair, and let my staff know that they should just choose someone without my input. As long as the eventual nominee travels on his own bus, I do not care who it is or what opinions they might have.
I am glad for this opportunity today to let my humorous side shine through, as Ann has often suggested I do. All of the people I employ have told me how skillful I am as storyteller and general wit. It is a shame that the rest of my staff cannot be as humorous as I am, but it is true that they are all much poorer than I am, so I suppose it is to be expected.

Hello, human diary. It is I again, Mitt Romney, your better.
Today I went shopping, Mr. Diary, just as all normal human units do. I purchased normal commoner products, such as corn. Corn is an excellent product to buy, because everyone likes corn, even poor people. I also bought several kinds of diet soda and individually packaged units of water, so we are prepared for quite the barbecue event this evening.
The only agenda for today is a meeting with my various advisers. We are going to talk about foreign policy, domestic policy, and our vice presidential policy, thus the need for ample quantities of soda. In addition, Mr. Bolton gave me a list of things he would require for his foreign policy demonstration, so it was also necessary to visit a hardware store. He was quite insistent, for example, that I bring him a new bucket. That fellow truly loves buckets, I must say!
We have still not come to a satisfactory conclusion with regards to our most pressing campaign question, which is whether, when we eventually chose a vice presidential unit, I shall be forced to travel with them. We intend to vet each of these candidates thoroughly and scientifically, probably by feeding each of them a can of beans and determining which of them would be least objectionable to be trapped on a moving vehicle with afterwards. They also will need to show America their tax returns, which would solve the problem of so many in the press demanding to see tax returns.
I am glad I was able to experience shopping again, Mr. Diary. Because of the tremendous drought in many states, I believe I have purchased two of the last ears of corn available in America. I cannot wait to see my advisers battle for them. My money is on that Bolton fellow, because he seems seriously unhinged.

STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES
Keep This On Your "Mental Clothesline",
Now And Through November, 2012.
If someone has to explain this to you, You are not a veteran
He doesn't seem to have much respect for the military. ?
Maybe in the future our leaders should be veterans.
THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SEE THIS!!
THE MOST STUPID STATEMENT EVER BY A PRESIDENT-Unbelievable
THIS MOST UNBELIEVABLE PRESIDENT?
HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO REQUIRE THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.
Bad press, including major mockery of the play by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 billion annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit.. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their families whom you know. How in the world did a person with this mindset become our leader?
REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT...."Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?"
If he thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service he ought to think it over.. If you or a family member is or has served their country please pass this to them.
Please pass this to everyone. I'm guessing that other than the 20-25 percent hardcore liberals in the USwill agree that this is just another example why
this is the worst president in American history. Remind everyone over and
over how this man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king...
But to top that off......he is perfectly happy providing insurance to illegal aliens!!!!!!

Health Concerns
Claim: Statement reproduces President Obama's response regarding opposition to his veterans' health insurance plan.
FALSE
I received this in an e-mail. Is this true, did Obama say this?

With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
Origins: President Barack Obama did not utter any of the statements reproduced above; the quoted example is a bit of fictional dialogue excerpted from a satirical piece by conservative humorist John Semmens which was published on his site on 21 March 2009.
The basis of Mr. Semmens' satire was that, in conjunction with meeting with several veterans groups in March 2009, the Obama administration floated a proposal to save the federal government an estimated $540 million per year by billing veterans' private insurance companies for the treatment of their combat injuries and other service related health problems. (Currently only non-service-related medical treatments are so billed.) The proposal would not have, as was often misreported, forced veterans to pay for the treatment of their injuries out of their own pockets or required them to buy private insurance; but it did raise the prospect that injured or ill veterans might find it harder or more expensive to purchase health coverage, or to obtain employment in the private sector if employer-funded private insurance plans had to cover the additional costs of treating injuries and other service-related health problems.
The plan was heavily criticized by veterans almost from the moment it was presented to them, as the Washington Post reported in an account of a meeting between President Obama and veterans' groups:
[T]he leaders of veterans service organizations warned the president that their goodwill would vanish if he pursued a budget proposal to bill veterans' private insurance companies for treatment of amputations, post-traumatic stress disorder and other combat-related injuries.
One Vietnam veteran summoned his deep voice to address Obama, calling the change "a dumb move." An Iraq veteran said the move would be "a deal-breaker" because it would represent an abrogation of the government's responsibility to care for the wounded and could jeopardize veterans' insurance benefits.
Within 48 hours, the White House announced that the proposal had been dropped, but the President still came in for his fair share of criticism from those who maintained that he failed to anticipate how his proposal would be received and should have known better than to even raise the subject:
However, many said that they were surprised by the ham-handedness of the private insurance effort because it seemed that no one in the White House or the [Veterans Administration] took into consideration how veterans would react — or Congress, where several members called the plan "dead on arrival."
"The president needs to drop this," [Paul] Rieckhoff [executive director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America] said of Obama. "The longer we wait, the more it hurts his relations with the [veterans service organizations] and with vets. This is a no-brainer. We were all shocked. We don't understand why he's picking this fight."
A Newsday editorial summed up many Americans' feelings about the matter in opining that:
This load-shedding device would have saved the government about $540 million. But whoever proposed it to Obama was politically tone-deaf.
To Obama's credit, he appears to have backed away from this insensitive proposal. But veterans still can't figure out how he let someone in the administration persuade him to try it. Frankly, neither can we.

Is your schwanzstucker drooping Todd?
According to NOAA scientists, the average temperature for the contiguous U.S. during July was 77.6°F, 3.3°F above the 20th century average, marking the hottest July and the hottest month on record for the nation. The previous warmest July for the nation was July 1936 when the average U.S. temperature was 77.4°F. The warm July temperatures contributed to a record-warm first seven months of the year and the warmest 12-month period the nation has experienced since record keeping began in 1895.

And the GOoPer (hahahahahahahahahahahaha) response.
A Mitt Romney spokesperson offered an unusual counterattack Tuesday to an ad in which a laid-off steelworker blames the presumptive GOP nominee for his family losing health care: If that family had lived in Massachusetts, it would have been covered by the former governor’s universal health care law.
“To that point, if people had been in Massachusetts, under Governor Romney’s health care plan, they would have had health care,” Andrea Saul, Romney’s campaign press secretary, said during an appearance on Fox News. “There are a lot of people losing their jobs and losing their health care in President [Barack] Obama’s economy.”
Don'tcha love Rmoney Care Todd?
