Here is a question I'd like to hear the Liberals spout off about.

On the stage right now, what LIBERAL is the brightest bulb and/or who can explain the liberal/progressive position the best ?

On the Conservative side, I'll pick Congressperson Paul Ryan.

Wouldn't it be fun to have a full hour conversation televised (NOT A DEBATE) with those two people? There used to be a show moderated by Fred Friendly where they assembled a bunch of people from all sides and all fields to discuss a single issue like education. They were great. I think Fred Friendly must have died because you don't see it anymore.

I'd like to see something like that again. Anyone else?

This is great, thanks.

Sitting down in the morning, with a cup of homebrew (coffee) and reading the latest Drill.... posts.

And I agree Greg, Paul Ryan- from Wisconsin! He's got it together. And I like your Ronnie quote in your sig!

A fine mess Ollie!

Gingrich wants to do away with food stamps and I suspect he will get his way. The problem is I've worked with people who are unable to feed themselves. These few are just crazy as loons! Others are outraged that they cannot find work they are willing to accept. I have some sentiment for that point of view. I was a carpenter until age forty and work was always up and down. Sometimes it got very depressing but only for a week or two and I was willing to tough that out. Unemployment is only a REAL burden if you have no money! Since my wife was a teacher and we have no children a missed paycheck or two was no burden. She ALWAYS filled my down time with honey-dos so I really didn't have time to worry about it. Still, I came to realize that there was a limit to what I would accept. For me it was sanitation. If the only honest job I could find would have been emptying porta potties, I would have turned outlaw. Seriously. There is no way in hell I would ever suck [censored] through a straw! Like it or not I suspect others have similar limits.

Yesterday the President (pocket) vetoed a bill that went through congress without debate. It basically allowed banks to steal houses from their rightful owners. This bill gave banks the right to forge mortgage documents and submit them into evidence in bankruptcy courts. What this means to me is that some secret cabal has true control of congress and they are intent on stealing the small amount of wealth my wife and I have managed to accumulate.

So, my wife and I discussed the matter at breakfast this morning, I explained to her what I'm going to do, and she accepts it. I promise you that if anyone, ANYONE, ever tries to take from me what is mine it will cost them their lives. When I get that knock on the door, I don't intend to answer, I'm going to shoot through it. It is not within my power to harm the cabal, but I can damn sure harm their henchmen.

Barack Obama is the last honest politician in America. He is the only thing standing between us and absolute tyranny.

"Live free or die", does not offer a choice. It is a simple declaration.

Robert Aderholt, REPUBLICAN Alabama

"This legislation will help businesses around the nation by eliminating the confusion which arises when states refuse to acknowledge the integrity of documents notarized out of state."

At least the cabal knows where to find their whores.

By sticking the bill in his virtual pocket the President screwed the banks out of billions in ill gotten gains. Not bad for an illegal alien from Kenya huh? [/sarcasm]

Kenya indeed. I wonder how many fraudulent mortgage notes are sitting in Nigeria just waiting for this legislation to pass.

My only personal experience with the judiciary and the rules of evidence is that they are absolutely insurmountable. If that legislation had gone into effect every court in the Nation would have been compelled to uphold claims against your property no matter how obviously fraudulent they were.

I've already called the local offices of my (non)representatives and asked them to take up golf. I will not be voting for ANY incumbents in this election. They are all equally at fault.

It's time for the two party system to go! Maybe we can divide and conquer them.

In Florida the major parties, Republicans and Democrats are given special treatment under the law. Basically, if you are NOT a major party it's a bitch getting a candidate on the ballot. For the R&Ds it's a no brainer, it happens almost automatically. Further the Party apparatus has control over primary results. Not long a ago a Republican won her primary but the local Republican Party Boss, refused to have her name appear on the ballot, claiming she was a "stealth" candidate because she had failed to sign a "loyalty oath" to the Republican party. A "Major Party", in Florida at least, is a private club. Sure, you can declare party affiliation on your voters registration card. But the party itself doesn't have to admit you. For instance, you might want to participate in selecting a nominee endorsed by the party, but said party doesn't have to allow it. It is the ultimate good old boys club. To state it a different way, if I'm the party chairman and hold a candidate selection meeting in my home I don't have to let you in. The same as if I were having a bar-b-que. I don't have a problem with the "privacy" issue, but I don't think that same party should enjoy special treatment under the law.

I wonder if the Supreme Court would uphold "special" treatment for Major parties? Crazy Anton would, buthe is just one looney in the bin.

Why do we care? If there was a zillion parties, maybe the cabal would run out of money before they could buy up all of congress? To me it looks like the cabal owns Congress 100%.

After yesterday,I'd believe anything. There is no conspiracy so wacky that I wouldn't lend credence to it.
