Waiting for a real/current NOR, but i wanted to post and plant the seed.

If you ever raced in Tampa/Dunedin there is a fair chance you raced against a lunatic guy named Bob Barton. All his boats have a "Freedom Sailor" logo on them.

He is an institution around here.. or should be in one... either way.. his race is for cancer research and both he and his wife are survives.

I am not a racer, but this is the one race i will do.. last year it was a nice 30 mile loop around Anclote and he was not able to sail it, so he was the chase boat. We hope he can race this year.. (so he wont ride behind me yelling at me all day) and i have offered him my boat, to skipper or crew. Last year he was kind enough to make me a 117th place trophy (out of 32 boats)

The Barton's sail for cancer. Proceeds go to the Moffit cancer center for cancer research. First race was 2009, Oct. Next race is planed Oct. 3rd 2010.

This is last years, i have asked him for this years NOR and will post when i get it.

If the race is held on 10/3, it will be on the same weekend as Wilcat at Lake Eustis. I think that my have an impact on your attendance.

Time: 9:00am registration, 10:00am skipper's meeting,
Classes: Open to all beachcats
Entries: Registration will be on site the morning of the event. Awards will be given for each class. Beverages will be provided.
Long distance race with the course to be announced at the skippers meeting.
Sailing instructions will also be available on the race day.
