Hi all,

have spoken to Great Lakes S.C. re holding Australian F16 titles at Forster Wildcat Regatta, which is first weekend in Oct 05'. They are open to the idea what do the OZ F16 sailors think.

The F18's don't have their Titles there this year, as they have for the last few years so it won't be quite as busy. Though the A's are having NSW states there, but I doubt this will add as many boats as F18 titles have the last few years.

Four Vics. have expressed keen interest to travel to attend, all we need is boats from the other states. A great opportunity to showcase the F16's at Australias largest open cat regatta don't you think?

Regards Gary.

Hi Stewart,

understand it is difficult from the west, hell of a long way, having done the trip many times myself.

On the positive side does this mean you have a boat back on the water? If not if you are keen enough flying over and borrowing a boat could be an option.

Srewart,
36 hours of driving when I did it last.We did it in 2.5 days. Pretty hard slog all the way sitting on 80mph.
I flatted with a chap 25years back who wanted to go home for a visit. Got in his car in Sydney and out in Perth. 36 hours later. I must admit it would be hard to sail a titles after that.
However I believe it is only 4 hours in a plane.
Do you need a boat it would be great to have the west represented?

Regards,
Phill

Phill,
I would have to drive solo.. Not sure I would do it these days in 2.5 days..
I would need a boat if I flew.. (Could you please arrange one with twin Evenrude 150 hp outboard motors on it to keep up with the young ones..)

Stewart,
Your probably right- 2.5 days may be pushing it the way things are on the road these days.
Anyhow think about it. If you can find the time we 'll try to find you a boat.

Regards,
Phill

Gary,

Sorry - no new boats from Adelaide will be ready in time. Kenneth & I have complete the moulds for our masts, beams, foils, pole & boom, but hulls will be in August / September some time.

Hope you guys enjoy the regatta.

Regards

Marcus

Hi Marcus,

sorry to hear you can't make it from the sound of all those moulds, you are building carbon bits?

Make sure you let me know when boats are racing and I will come over.

Regards Gary.
