Abc's of Mystere
I've been a mystere client for 3 years and haven't stopped getting negative comebacks on resent or older mysteres that breakdown. Even if you live in the Montreal area and think that a local product is a good deal, think again! mystere boats is only their sideline product. You can’t even get reasonable service even if you have you boat in point-Calumet. They hirer unqualified labour to build their boats and hopefully you’ll a decent boat by the end of building season. Mystere Cat’s are lake boats that perform well on light winds with oversized sails. The decks pop and the rudders break under reasonable conditions. I’m sorry to bust your bubble guys but I think you should sell your boats while they still have a certain value. By the whey, mystere is building a f-40 witch I hade the pleasure of seeing in their old shop 2 years ago and is still in construction… The boat was inspired by the Thomas crown affaire movie! That’s all they never had one afloat yet. It's just a movie !!!

Good luck to you guys and mystere!!!

huh?
you are not bursting anyone's bubble here, friend. I think all the people on this forum are very well aware of the weaknesses and strengths of the mystere cats.
But yes, I am also frustrated with their level of service. I've told Yves that he should really read this forum and find out what people are saying...This is the place people come to get advice when buying a new boat...If past behavior is a predictor for future behavior, I wouldn't recommend anyone buying a Mystere, even if they start making the best F18 in the world.

Yves Soucy......... You know he reads this forum! Just like anything on this earth worth saving,is worth fighting for. You ever owned a Triumph Spitfire or a Alfa or a Pinto or a Renault,I could generalize and say they are all a POS but there are always exceptions to the rule that keep people interested in them past and present. There is not a design out there that's bullet proof somebody will always find a weakness . If Mystere made the best, fastest all around F-18 in the world people would be in line to get it.Regardless of how poor the service is

I wouldn't expect so.

People may buy them all they want. I just said I would never recommend it. Don't come whine when your boat is out of commission for months because you can't get parts or prices.

Really? Well if that is the case, he'd be more than welcome to shed some light on some of the conversations here.

And yes...I actually owned a Renault 5 - and it was a pretty fun car in fact

What is everybody talking about? When I want to order a part, I simply call the factory and speak to Yves. The part is overnighted and personally delivered by Yves.

Never had a problem with deck seperating either. I could probably lift the boat by the footstraps if they were attached to the rear decks instead of the hull itself.

I think you're full of it, I don't know anybody who has had that kind of service at Mystere... Are you sure you’re not talking about the Nacra's service! Remember that all Mystere's come equipped with standard factory installed ejectable decks. It’s an option at other cat companies. I find that Nacra builds the best boats for the money in America, and their service is incomparable.

Good night to all

Listen buddy, there might be some rotten apples here and there, but overall quality is beyond reproach. I,m pretty sure their new F18 will be a serious contender against the new Nacra. we will have to see in a few months.

Man I’m sure you still believe in Santa Clause!!! Are you under aged??? I’ve visited the factory several times and all I’ve ever seen is an unfinished f-40 and a whole bunch of broken cat’s next to a garbage container. Tell me, are you aware of how many boats were built last year? Below 2 ! . Boats are a side line that’s all kid. Nacra’s are built by professionals in a state of the art factory. They gather information and develop best products available. I think they will always be 100 miles ahead of other boat builders because they listen to their clients concerns.
