Mark,

Checking rudder alignment goes a long way to getting good boat speed from the very start. At least if you have that right then you only have to work on sail settings and your own skills.

The fist race should be in light winds so you don't have to get out on trapeze and can keep your weight as far forward as possible to keep the transom from digging in and slowing you down.

Once you master getting out on trapeze with the mainsheet in one hand and the tiller extension in the other there will be no holding you back.

Regards,

Peter

Hi Peter

I have sail numbers 98 and 477, home built, currently stored in the roof - are these the lowest in your register!?

James,
Nice to see some of the owners of the older boats are now having them added to the register but the oldest on the register....not a chance, I owned 69 and I think you wwill find it hard to get below No 1, owned, built and sailed by Neil Fowler in Darwin, yes, the same guy who designed the boat we enjoy.

Enjoy,

David

James,

Welcome to the swarm. As David says we go back to Mozzie No. 1 but there's only 5 listed before your No. 98.

Do you have any more details of the Mozzies history for the register eg. boat names, build dates, how long they've been in the roof, where they were sailed, original owner ?

Any shred of history would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Peter

Hi Peter,

Not much info but 519 "Fansidar" was sailed by my brother Marc Clavin out of Mt Martha about 20 years ago. He can't remember who he bought it from or who he sold it to.

Cheers

Peter,

Suddenly made me feel old, especially as I sailed with a lot of the early boats and 2/3 digit numbers were common. My youngest son worked out how many years around these things, that was scarey.

I am still working o the Darwin/NT boats, the NTMCA records were destroyed when the assoc folded there but slowly chasing the boats up.

David

Hi All. Time for an updated register listing.

Right click on the attachment and save it with a .xls file extension then open it from EXEL as a spreadsheet. I hope it works.

Regards,

Peter

Simon,

Welcome to the swarm. Hope you enjoy the Mozzie as much as the rest of us.

Do you have any more details ? Club, boat name if changed etc. You can send me a personal message if you don't want to go public.

I shall publish the listing again before the start of the season.

Regards,

Peter
