Do you suppose that's what they think Americans really look and act like?
I always get a kick out of how Americans are depicted on British TV shows. Everyone wears a Stetson and talks like John Wayne. I crack up whenever I hear a Brit do an American accent, like Hugh Laurie on "House".
Well, whole thing pretty much started as a Finnish comedy movie Leningrad Cowboys go America about a russian band going to US because they couldn't play rock at home, director was Aki Kaurismäki so it's "little bit" peculiar. After the movie band continued to live, all of the actors were actually part of another band they just switched their name and put on their Leningrad cowboys costumes, played lot of classic rock songs. Movie was made 20 years ago and the USSR was still there, at the point that red army was part of the show 16 or 17 years ago it was really amazing how fast things changed, btw they switched their grey boring costumes at the same time to something more colorfull too. Anyway, all this had more to do with the East than the US
