Buy the Hobie 18--better design, better for 3 people, more forgiving and easier to sail, safer, more comfortable, etc--I've owned Hobie 14, 16, and 18--the 18 is by far a superior design.

Sure, thousands of people have learned to sail on the Hobie 16, and it is a fun boat and a little simpler to rig. But without getting into a very long, long discussion on the differences in design, let me just say, BUY THE HOBIE 18 and enjoy.
