Netherlands,
Cats and Dinghies :
http://catsanddinghies.nl/Zeilen :
http://www.zeilen.nl/In the past I have written a full article for cats and dinghies (on their request) with high res pictures only to see nothing appear in the magazine. Never even heard a reason why they dropped it. Still the guy who contacted me is a very deeply involved with Hobie 16's and the magazine was at that time owned by the Nacra dealors, so maybe it wasn't so much a surprise as the F16's are a direct competition to both. I think things have changed a little since then. I think this all happened in autumn 2004. I can check if you guys wants.
Zeilen is mainly focussed on yachts and monohulls but they do articles on small boats once in a while. For some reason I don't think they are "against multi's", they are mostly geared towards cruising and multi's don't do much of that. I must say that they do once in a while come up with a totally unexpected article about some small boat or small builder. I would give them a try also.
Pretty much I feel that the best way to have an article in either mag is to supply a demo boat (with skipper) to their man and have him sail it on the lake of IJsselmeer one day. I seem to recall our chairman has several demo's available at this time, so ....
If we are really smart then we contact Diana Boogaards ;
http://www.diabo.nl/ She writes most of this stuff anyway and she is deeply involved with cat sailing herself. Seh actually searched us out for her new book on catsailing as she felt the F16's had potential for a great future. She is a full time sailing journalist and she has a very good network of contacts I'm sure. So contacting her should be very high on any PR committees list. Even if only to ask for advice on how to best approach the matter or PR. Lovely lady as well, very kind mannered, but that is another topic.
