Simplicity. Quick to rig. Very easy to handle on the beach, easy to right. Light and sensitive helm. Slices the water in a sexy way. Points spectacularly well. Light weight translates into instant acceleration. No need to line up crew. Not generally designed to accept the loads of a spinnaker, but when powered up carries apparent wind down very well.
