Hobie's factory sails are very well built. They usually cost a bit more than aftermarket sails, are only built to IHCA class rules (i.e. no square tops) and are sold through the Hobie dealer network which, depending on your location, may be an issue.

Aftermarket sails are available from a number of sources but will vary in construction and price.

The factory jib was recut about 15 years ago (to allow more mast rake). Shroud/forestay length and block stack-up may be an issue with a '81 H16. Recommend you borrow a newer set of sails (sail number 100,000+ ?) to determine where you're at. Search this forum for additional threads on this subject.
