Hi All,
Just a quick wrap up from my point of view:
Saturday race 1, had major problems getting the main up and locked on so missed the start. eventually got everything ship shape and went out to join in. just getting the spi worked out when the the crew jumped ship on me while going down wind - all I saw was a wall of white water go past me with feet sticking out of it leaving me with 3 sails to contend with.
2nd race saw us work out our troubles and settle down a bit with a close last.
Lots of wind (my estimate gusts over 30 a couple of times) saw quite a few of us make use of buoyancy vests .
Sunday came around overcast and about the same good breeze which then died out and the sky cleared up. 2 races in the morning gave us 2 6ths thanks to Phil and his efforts to clear the weed out of the bay.
Lunch at Rosebud YC then into another 2 races in very light winds - That became lighter the closer you came to the beach (Tim and Matt!).
The Toy had to retire before the start of the last race due to grumblings from the crew about sunburn and tired (nothing to do with me, honest!)
Gary M on Thrice Bitten came up with the goods for 1st place on untried main and spi (well done sir). Simon again won the non spinaker division trophy
Big thanks to Simon C for arranging the weekend and to both Mccrae and Rosebud for letting us all crash on their course.
The boat came through OK - I am still recovering.
