The first of 3 distance races was sailed today for the Trident series trophy. My new MAXI rig Hobie 14 (sqtop main/reacher) was never overpowered in the 8-12kt winds. The distance sailed today was approx 38 miles. It corrected over I20s(Brian Lambert and Kirk Newkirk) and an ARC22. The main just fit the 5% rule and the reacher is about 120sqft. I also took an additional hit for an all alum mast. Total number with adjustments is 82.0. I wonder what a Hobie 16 with this rig would do??? HHMMMMMM...... Bob Curry
