Greg,
The H16 is raced w/ alot of mast-rake to "load up" the rudders since the boat has no daggerboards.
How do you set the mast-rake???? With the jib halyard.
When the mast is raised on a H16 the mast is "over raked" ... the main is hoisted and then the jib ... next the jib halyard is tensioned pulling the mast up-right reducing the mast-rake .... but usually set so that when the mainsheet is sheeted in tight, that the mainsheet stack is "block to block" ....
Totally different proceedure and set-up from your ol' P19 .... or that new F16 you have .....
I have watched many of the Div11 H16 racers use this proceedure .... when I'm rigging my TheMightyHobie18 next to them at Hobie Points Regattas.
