Hi,
OK, now I'm confused, so let me see if I have this right:
If you have a Hobie TIger with the larger sails (4.15 vs 3.45 for the jib, 21 vs 19 for the spin), then you are no longer considered a Hobie Tiger but an F-18 with the larger sails which means you must weigh 330lbs or more, or carry corrector weights. If you do not, Mark & Matt agree to use the L2 penalty. That's good, since there is no penalty for a larger than normal spinnaker, only for a larger jib. SO I'm OK with this one.
But, If you are racing a "stock" Hobie Tiger as an F18 and weigh 286lbs or more, you are OK with the published rating. But if you race as a Tiger, you have to be 309 lbs or more. That's a 23 lb difference with the same rating? What do we (race scorers) do here?
