So far, though, in Key Largo it sounds like most of the condos are going to be operated like motels. Most, if not all the properties that have been purchased have commercial zoning, so the owners of the individual condos will not be allowed to actually live there for more than a total of 28 days a year. I know for sure that is true of both Gilbert's Resort and America Outdoors.
They call them "condotels" or something like that.
P.S. In the Keys you can't build over four stories high, and you can't have more than 10 units per acre, so I don't think it is going to get as bad as Marco Island. I hope.
