Dermot, I noticed you remained very quite about the Spitfires rating. Now this is one Cat which number seriously needs dropping according to past results. 1.01 looks about right to me.
You mean it's faster than a F16 ? The last I heard was that the Spitfires were afraid of facing up to the F16s in the Uk <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The Spitfires have a "One design" circuit, with 25 boats at their Nationals. Apart from JP, as far as I know, no other F16s have ever challenged the top Spitfire sailors at open events.
I hope that some day the Spitfires will enhance the F16 fleet, but at the moment there is no contest in the UK or France.
The boat is fast - BUT The Spitfire sailors are just BETTER.
The top Spitfire sailors from the past 3 years are now some of the top F18 and Tornado sailors in the UK.
