The bottom line is they are there doing it and well... you're not! You don't get to the Alter Cup by accident. It's not like they pick the most prolific and long winded blow hard forum poster to attend the cup.

PTP, how come you didn't attend the Area D South qualifier? Maybe you could conduct an on the beach seminar and help some of these folks out, I'm sure they would love to hear what you have to say.

Why ya gotta be such a **** about it? It was a thought and I have NEVER held myself up to be an expert.. and did I not agree with Tad about his comment that it is just a still and should be taken as such?

If you want to criticize someone's sailing and sail trim post a picture of yourself and have at it.

I'm pretty sure these folks didn't ask for your opinion. And yes, I'm quite confident these teams you are so critical of will work it out in short order even without your help!

The fact that it is coming from a couple arm chair's just rubs me wrong. That's why I'm being a **** about it!

Why would you assume that I would make a comment about that picture in an attempt to crticize anyone.. it was more of a "??? too much rotation???" than, as I said, a "jackasses clearly have too much rotation."

Then no one should make any comments at all then? Or should they all be preceded by a sailing resume that each of us can send to you so you can then deem us worthy of making any comments at all? Check your PM in a bit and mine will be there.. all 2 lines of it.
All it would take is "that is one picture, can't really call it based on one shot" as OPPOSED to being a **** about it.
I suppose you could already be perfect and know everything already in which I guess I should apologize as I am clearly not worthy of commenting in the same forum as you.

Hmmm.. how about discussing whether that sail trim would be good going to windward in 20 knots of wind... IS it too much rotation???? oops.. there I go again.

Ding can out sail you any day on his 400 boat, I promise, he's that good. I know,I do happen to be the expert, because he and Kathy kick my butt EVERY time.
Im getting really bored with this banter, Tad and Wouter...You guys need to kiss and make up, you're both smart, maybe too much alike, thats why you dont like each other. And Tad, yes I can say that, because I know that you are good fellow, and a smart sailor and business man.

Whew, now I feel better since Ive solved all of catsailors problems....

Oh yeah, hows the racing today? Some fellow named Jake is running things around there...Anyone know him?

I am 100% positive he could outsail me (and I don't even know the guy) which is why I would listen to him if he said something constructive like "can't call it based on one pic" etc etc etc.

but sail trim looks good... good rotation and all <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

you can't argue that W doesn't know what he is talking about most of the time (in my expert opinion yet again). I think I have found the very few people on this forum who have less experience than me... everyone else I will still listen to (if it is about sailing) <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Is Maugan still foaming at the mouth ?

Want to read something funny ?

Go read my 8 posts in this thread, in one go, and then evaluate what all the fuss was about ?

And ohh don't you just love the discussion twist that when it comes down to the F16 boats I'm just an arm chair sailor ?

A good thing that I never seem to run into that guy who founded that class.

Afterwards, people always tell me that he was about but I've never encountered him.

I'm sorry PTP, but we cannot BOTH be experts. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
There must be some way we can settle this? <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

the boat's going faster on it side than it would be if you were sailing it?
:P

(ps I'm not "foaming at the mouth" see the global warming thread for that kind rhetoric)

Yes... but I don't see a tack line... (or at least its hard to make out in the pic) I thought you had a self tacker on your boat as well!

What looks weird to me is that it looks like the snuffer is pointing almost straght up. I thought maybe it was just a camera distortion or an optical illusion.
