Is this easy... I have done minor fiberglass work and have done a lot of metal work I am a little worried about something like this only because I have not done it...

I can say for a fact that this online store can get tramps for a trac 14 - you may need to call them if it doesn't show up in the online listings.

forget the automotive product and use the prescribed Marine two pot. Auto is too soft.
Love the colour!
Your boat looks like a rat rod!
Tiki is right, do a search here.

Hot!!! Black boats make for hot burned sailors and weakened fiberglass laminates.

yeah I agree wiht he "hot" ness of black boats thats why I was going to just paint the bottom of the hulls black.

I really wish the hulls were white originaly but they are like a tan/yellow I still am in search of the best paint to use.... but google really is not sailboat friendly

Black boats are hot. Just in case you didn't hear the first time.
IF you are landing on beaches...When you sand the keels mask an inch either side and butter on a half inch of resin/glue/filler mix. This will take several shots. It is for a sacrificial surface.
Have an anchor bag made and as much as possible anchor the boat rather than dragging it. Easier than dragging and the boat won;t start to sink at exactly the wrong time.

So your saying to use Extra fiberglass and kinda build a lip on the bottom of the hull so I can wear that away befor I wear the hull away... That seems like it would work I think I am going to take your Idea with the anchor tho..

I am not painting the entire boat Black Just the bottom of the hulls.. the tramp will be white and the tops of the hulls will be gray I Just kinda wanna make the bright colors of the sail be even more obnoxious!!! ha ha...

and tony your right that all black boat is pretty bad a** but I would have to agree wiht the temp being in the upper 90's that all black boat will be terrible! i would think

This image annoys me. I was planning to have a black boat and black sails...no advertising nothing....I was so excited about it.
Then two things happened.
I talked here about the problems of resins and heat.....and Jonny Depp got famous for sailing a black boat with black sails.......

I had a dark greean, metalic boat....you could not think to sit on it until it was in the water and splashed down.
Yes..the sacrificial keel brings great peace of mind. It is not a purist, racers thing but we are not all that anal about racing....bot knocking it, just saying.
I have had an anchor bag made. It also carries my paddle blade. It is padded both sides and clips down tight to the front of the tramp.
I also cut one side of the danforth peak off to make the profile lower.
I often park up on a beach out at one of the islands for a meal or just coffee and a chat. There is another favourite beach to anchor at and then walkmover a saddle to a town and an icecream or whatever. The anchor is worth its weight in gold and if I am racing, I can just leave it on shore.
I have also made a bosuns bag which clips over another food/clothing/etc bag and clips down to the other side of the tramp.
So I have about four modes I can take the boats out in. Everything is in its bag and hanging, ready to go.
If you are going to take adventure sailing seriously....and you might after you have done some of it...having gear sorted and ready to go brings a lot of safety, pleasure and saves a lot of time and anxiety.

I am not worried about how heavy an anchor will be .. I am not looking to do any racing wiht my boat just yet. I am more or less looking for the best way to repair what damage has been done and make the boat last for several years and sail the heck out of it!

My biggest concern is the Soft spots on the hull and painting the hulls. I think because its later in the year already I am just going to sail it the way it sits and work on it over the winter.

Lol I agree with you black sails on the hobie would be pretty cool but Then I would feel like i need to give credit to that guy and speak in some weird pirate voice yarrrr.........
