The closest blade to san diego is John Dudash in long beach. He sails pretty much every saturday off the beach at the claremont street ramp. He is always willing to take someone sailing and talk shop. Photo of John's boat (at right) so you know what sail to look for. Photo is at huntington lake and my taipan is parked next to him.

Robi,

You should move your Frappr map "pin" to your new home--GYC.

thanks, will look aorund for john on saturday. I've noted this past season a number of irregular tears developing along the foot of the spinnaker extending in a wedged shaped distributuion to the first tab of the retrieval line. couldn't find any possible snag points so kept sailing as they were in a low load area. my sailmaker noted yesterday that they did not have the typical fraying associated with ringding tears etc and thought they looked more like tears from rope burns. he thought possibly treating the sail with mclube would prevent these. anyone with similar experiences or thoughts on prevention? thanks.luis

Do a search on Holmenkol SEALnGLIDE on the open forum of this web site. Basically soak your spin in a bucket of water and SEALnGLIDE mixture. Hang to dry (be careful where you do this). Repeat a few months later....... There has been quite a lot of discussion on the product.

You can buy this product on the CatSailor online store. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Luis:
By all means, drop by the Claremont Launch on Saturday and bring your gear. Pacific around LA is about 67 degrees F this time of year. You can catch me for sure if you arrive between 10 and noon.
Today the air is thick with smoke from all the fires. Lots of smoke, pretty much from the border north to at least Malibu. Hopefully the fires will be under control and the air clear by Sat.
John
