Hey there, Im looking to plan out our Hogsbreath race 2008 and wanted to line up hotels, flights etc but heard that the race is going to a one day format. Does anyone have details on the start finish location & exact dates? Ive only seen the listing for it on Catsailor but no more info. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Will start at Islander mile 82 on Saturday, most likely will be one day 80 miles to Key West to a sister hotel of Islander with good party Saturday nite. Likely will be a backup plan to stop at Sombrero beach Sat nite if low wind day or to punt to a Sunday only race (as we did last year) if no wind. Ideally the Islander and its sister hotel will accomadate room changes if the schedule changes. This is not official but comes from good sources.

Hopefully we can get a good turnout as this is a super high quality race, and the islander put on a great spread last year with some free food and drinks and then later on gave a good discount on more food and drinks. great pool, hottub, beach to hang out on, great place for family.

Is the April 26/27 on events page correct?

Yes I believe that is correct (The triple crown is 3 weeks in a row, miami-key largo, hogsbreath, mug, and thats how the dates are listed).

i think in years past it was awarded, hopefully Rick will chime in withthe answer. 2 years ago, several boats did the first two, but then all those including ourselves headed for the tybee (the week after mug) and i don't think anyone squished in the trip to Jax. Last year I think we were the only boat to do the first two, and though very tempted, were again too focused/committed to the tybee to work in the jax trip. It would be great to see a resurged interest in the triple crown, but you do need same crew and boat for all three so its rather commital, esp. if u are heading to tybee the next weekend after 3 in a row for the triple.

Anyone interested this year?
