I will be in Shreveport, LA (Barksdale Air Force Base) for about a month or so and was wondering if anyone does any sailing in the area?

Thanks

Shoot an e-mail to the Commodore and/or the TellTale Editor. They are both super-nice guys and they both sail beachcats!

Hitch up that 18, and come on down to Panama City Florida for the Mid Winters East. Things are shaping up for a fleet of 18's at that event. With a boat from Colorado, a Boat ftom Texas, a couple from Florida, and a couple from Tennessee it should be an interesting weekend. The more the merrier. How about you Jerome? you gonna be there on your 16 again this year ?

I was actually planning on going to Mid winters, But I will be on Military orders during that time and might be stuck at Barskdale.

Unless..... I can hook up with someone who needs a crew and is driving through that area. Then I might be able to work something out.

Either way....I will contact shreveport yacht club and see whats going on.

This year the Shreveport Yacht Club's annual Holiday in Dixie Regatta will have a dedicated course for multihulls. Like my buddy Jerome said, the new Commodore, Tom Hadel, is a Nacra sailor, and he wants to bring the cats back to the SYC. We've got very nice, grassy grounds for camping, a fancy clubhouse and bar, an amazing chef from New Orleans, and our margaritas are legendary! As per usual for the last few years, we'll have a band and kegs on Saturday night.

The Shreveport-Bossier area is home to 4 riverboat casinos, and some killer restaurants.

If you like big air, the weekend of the HID is more often than not held in a fresh northwest breeze, so bring your wetsuits!

I've just done a total rewrite of the SYC website, so it's still kind of spartan, but I will have more info up there in the next couple of days:
