Key Sailing and the RC are working on getting results posted. Sounds like they had good conditions both days.

Scuttlebutt:
Shafer/Tomko win the 20 Class. JMac turned it on today to jump into second.

Curry's new F17 holed by Hill in a port/starboard?

PTP (Patrick Pettingill) broke a rudder on his F16.

Layline Infusion (Krantz/Lennard) wins the Open Class as an Alter Cup warm-up. Mike Teets on an F17 takes second.

With good breeze, I'll bet there are good stories... spill it, mates! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

After watching Lionel Messi play, I realize I need to sail harder.

nope, didn't break a rudder. That was Stater, and it wasn't when they were sailing. I loaned them one of mine so they could sail on Sunday.

Oi! Corrections!

Chad Schwall (F17) wins Open Class - then Layline, then Teets.

Hill v. Curry was a windward/leeward encounter, not p/s. N20 under spin headed downhill, F17 headed uphill.

PTP did NOT break a rudder - he has hull issues (Thanks Tom T. on F16 forum).

In the words of one competitor; "Winds were up! Saturday 6-17kts with huge shifts and today 8-17kts shifting slowly to the right." Sounds familiar.

Party stories?

ps - rumors that the Alter Cup in April is on Getaways are exaggerated. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

It was shifty, and some good puffs on saturday. Some good dead spots I managed to find pretty easily and consistently! Overall, for the first time racing my boat I was happy with how I did. Had boat speed down pretty good I thought but have to do some more drills to really learn how to call laylines better. Did 3 tacks within what seemed like 50 yds of the finish!!! oops..... ah, learning curve, where are thee?

Brrrr.....that has to be one of the coldest regattas I've done. With the time change this morning, the fleet headed out at 9:30 (8:30 old time) and temps were in the lower 40's, which probably had the wind chill in the 30's.

Still, those who traveled from the north are headed back home to tell co-workers tomorrow....Yeah, went sailing this weekend, how many inches did you have to shovel?

Thanks to all for making the trip down to the "Mid-WINTERS", and to the volunteers who sat shivering on Race Committee boats.

Oh yeah, one more 2 scuttle stories.....Mark Smith's boat raced with his 2 top crews (Bubba working the front end for Bert Rice JR - Excellent job Bert for your first time driving N20), so does that leave Mark looking to crew for Charlie Harp?, ......and Alex/Tomko kicked butt, but how does that compare to Alex/Nigel?
