We recently "acquired" an approx. 16 ft cat from family. It had come with a lake cabin they had purchased. It's older, maybe 20+ yrs, and needs some work. We've had it out once and really enjoyed sailing for the first time. I'm trying to figure out who makes it. On the stern of the starboard hull is the following: TCMT18(or 6)561674. It doesn't seem like a Hobie number and I know of TomCat boats, but they all seem bigger. I'll be more than happy to provide pix if needed. Thanks in advance.

OK, so it appears that it's a Taft, made in Minneapolis. Anyone ever heard of these?

MIC is Manufacturers' Identification Code that the US Coast Guard maintains.

MIC Database Search Results for TCM

Doesn't necessarily apply to boats made prior to 1972.

I know someone who has a Taft, they also have a prindle 19 and still have tons of fun taking the Taft out. The company did exist so your probably right with the Taft part. Unfortunately I don't know anything else about them.
