10 pics of the iCat, the Wild cat and the Pearl. Plus two pics of a iCat proto.

No. It's its own thing. Not a A cat, not a F16. Comes with a main and a gennaker on a roller as an option. Think Fx-One after a diet.

You mean the Pearl comes with a 'gennaker on a roller'. Not the iCat, yeah?

I was just parroting what's written on the page in French. I was surprised to read that as well, but that's what written there. On the pictures the iCat prototype clearly has a spi and a snuffer, but the iCat doesn't even have a pole rigged. So it could be a misunderstanding grom the person who took the photos and wrote the text.

So the iCat with the snuffer is a prototype? There is some difference in the pictures between the one that is rigged with a pole and the one that isn't. Mostly the rear beam is raise a bit on the one with a spinnaker.

There should be at least one Wildcat at our club next weekend, should be interesting to see how it performs.

Taken from the Hobie Site posted by a Dealer
Quote:
For immediate release:
We have been making huge technological leaps in the production of the new iCat. We were inspired to go full carbon so as to take advantage of the stiffness and weight savings qualities of this material in order to add foiling boards and rudders. We have strengthened the beam saddles, transoms and daggerboard wells with longitudinal Kevlar in order to more efficiently distribute the massive loads that foiling will put on these structures.
We will be using foils (pictured) originally designed for the Hobie Trifoiler.

[Linked Image]

The rudders will have a flap control mechanism integrated into the carbon tiller much like the foiling Moth. Our goal is to make this the world's first single-handed foiling catamaran. Testing is currently under way, and video will be available soon.

Come on Foiling single handed with a spin. Karl would be selling a kidney and placing an order.
