I cannot find a weight listed for the subject boat. Please tell me what you can about that and why it is not listed. Thanks.

Yep; that is why it does not ahve an SCHRS rating as no-one knows what it is.

I've been told 11 different weights for this boat. None backed up by measurment cert.

And once more that says 145kg-

http://en.allexperts.com/e/f/fo/formula_17_%28sailing%29.htm

"The Formula 17 Class (www.formula17class.com) was formed in July 2006 and is in discussion with Hobie Cat and Performance Catamaran in developing a set of class rules. The idea behind the Formula 17 Class is similar to the Formula 18 Class, except it is for single-handed spinnaker-rigged catamarans of professional construction. The intent is to develop a class where Measurers only need to measure an example of a manufacturer's product to certify it meets the rules. Any deviation from manufacturer's parts for that type of boat would disqualify that boat from being legal to the Formula 17 Class rules.

The name F17 is used by Nacra to identify their carbon masted N17, a 17 foot single-handed design. Hobie Cat markets a 17 foot single-handed design called the FX-one.

The Formula 17 Class is talking with Hobie Cat and Performance Catamaran (Nacra) to agree on a single set of class rules and allow designs and makes of other boat builders into their racing fleets. .

Currently the specifications of both boats are : (source : www.texelrating.org)

Hobie FX-one
* Overall length : 5.23
* Overall weight : 149 kg
* Overall width : 2.5 mtr
* Overall sailarea incl. mast : 14.91 sq. mtr.

Additional comments :

The Hobie company itself doesn't use the F17 identifier in any official way. They are committed to the one-design status of their product.

Nacra N17
* Overall length : 5.23
* Overall weight : 155 kg
* Overall width : 2.6 mtr
* Overall sailarea incl. mast : 13.68 sq. mtr.

Nacra F17 w/ spinnaker (source: http://nacra.us/F17/Findex.html)
* Overall length : 5.23 mtr
* Overall weight : 145 kg
* Overall width : 2.6 mtr
* Overall sailarea mainsail incl. mast : 15.14 sq. mtr.
* Overall sailarea spinnaker (small) : 15.5 sq. mtr.
* Overall sailarea spinnaker (large) : 18 sq. mtr.

Additional comments :

The Nacra Company does use the F17 identifier for their latest 17 footer. The F17 has a 9.25 mtr (30' 4") carbon mast, differing from the N17 with a shorter aluminum mast and less sail area. In the past, Nacra has launched and produced the following variations of their 17 foot boat. Australian Inter 17 (a doublehanded sloop which replaced the Nacr 5.2 in that market), European Inter 17, US Inter 17, Inter 17R and now the Nacra F17. The Australian Inter 17 has different hulls than all the rest. The European and US Inter 17 were the same. The US Inter 17R and F17 are almost identical and only differ in some component differences which are relatively insignificant."
