I have heard it is not necessary to repair delamination to the side of the hull. Does anyone have more information on this? I bought some laminating resin this morning that I plan on injecting into the sides between the foam sandwich that seems to have rotted. Does this sound like a bad idea. I don't want soft sides, but I don't want to cause more problems than i already have. Thanks for any help.

Hobie has a page on how to repair delam on it's website, sounds like you are on the right track. Repair it now before it spreads.

The only thing that makes me wonder though is that the repair on hobie's site looks like one for the top(deck). I just hope that the sides are that thick too.

The hulls are built the same way. Just as thick.

One other thing about injecting resin. Hobie suggested using a plastic bottle to inject resin. I would use a large syringe. Drill the holes the same size as the syringe tip. This way when you stick the tip of the syringe into the hole it will seal somewhat allowing you to pump the resin into the hull and not back out at you.

Allright, one more thing. Thankfully this place is not far from me. If you are looking for syringes or anything for boat building or repair, check this place out. www.fgci.com
