We have held the Wave NAs once before in conjunction with the I-LYA Bay Week Regatta (Largest Fresh Water Regatta since the turn of the Last Century) and Put-in-Bay, Ohio, and have held a number of North Coast Championships.

But, this year there is a huge change in the schedule that should be really great. I-LYA has changed it from a Mon-Wed schedule to Friday through Sunday (a three-day weekend regatta).
And we are going to host the Wave North Americans along with it.
We really hope to bring a lot of Waves to this great island full of family fun, bars, entertainment, wineries, breweries, and all sort of entertainment.., and of course, GREAT SAILING.
By the way, want to visit Put-in-Bay by golf cart to have a look around? Just go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGWOnrPJ3Cc&annotation_id=annotation_420435&feature=iv
This is pretty incredible. The original video starts out at the Miller Ferry Dock. You can click to see the lighthouse, or click to go downtown. The lighthouse is boring, so go downtown. All along the way it will point out streets where you turn by clicking the arrow link. And for some of the points of interest there are links, i.e., Perry's Cave Family Fun Center, Heineman's Winery, Chocolate Fudge Factory Museum, etc.
You can run yourself all over the island, and the music in the background is all the local entertainers, including the awesome Pat Dailey.
The dates for the NAs will be Aug 6-8 (Fri-Sun) There is also a 21-mile distance race (Sandusky Steeplechase) from Sandusky Sailing Club to PIB on Thursday morning -- start is 9AM.
That may be a bit much for a Wave, but if you have any other boat, this is a great one. And there are two awesome perpetual trophies, one for the first across the line, the other for first on handicap.

Sure hope we see a LOT OF WAVES There this year. And for the Steeplechase, let's get those hot cats back on the water again.

Oh and by the way, every Sunday we have an antique car parade. Here is a glimps of one of them

We have three cars, 1908 Model T Speedster, 29 Mercedes Roadster Replica, and a 29 Model A 4-door Ford Sedan
See ya there,
Rick
