I sold my P19 a few year ago because is was such a beast to set up and sail by myself. Stepping & unstepping the mast was a back breaker. Can the wave mast be stepped easily by just 1 person?

Very easy, you can reach the front chain plate from the tramp and its not heavy at all. Do you have a Wave?

I dont have a wave yet. Ive been looking for an A cat but they are as rare as hen's teeth so now I'm looking at the wave. I want a boat I can set and sail by myself.

The mast base comes with a pin you put in for raising and lowering, but I never use it. The socket on the bottom of the mast is very deep and never pops out.
And it is a one-handed deal to raise it (and I am 74). I tie the end of the halyard to the bridle and after the mast is up, grab the halyard, pull up the bridge and attach the forestay. Rig should be loose, so that makes it even easier.
