Hi all,

not sure that the weather was what Simon was looking forward to in the forecast, but I guess I can't complain wink.

McCrae organised another good weekend of racing, not sure about the break up of the divisions though, Mossie with spinnaker was in with Hobie 16 & 17's. In the prevailing light to moderate winds I think results would have been closer with all spinnaker cats in one division (perhaps Tim can work it out, as we sailed same course different number of laps confused ).

It was a great turn out of nearly 70 cats, with more classes than has been seen for years. Winds where gusty both days, with Saturday 5-12 knots and Sunday 8-18 knots, with lots of shifts, most found it very hard to pick the right way to go.

But if you could find your way through the minefield, the Mossie with spinnaker excelled down wind, matching or bettering most other cats vmg downwind, on the windward and return course. cool

After getting second place overall a few times, I finally cracked a win for the overall YV Victorian Catamaran Championship grin . But it was a pity the forecast stronger winds didn't eventuate, as the non spinnaker cats would have had a chance to enjoy themselves more frown .

Hi all,

I thought I had a good weekend, but I just did some calculating of elapsed times and turned the 4 laps of the A's, Vipers and Taipans, in to 3 lap times by subtracting 25%.

My winning times for Div 2 in Race 1 to 4, where nothing special, finishing behind the faster rated cats. But Matts Div 2 win in race 5 saw him beat the 1st Taipan time, be less than a minute behind the 1st A and just over a minute behind the 1st Viper. cool Then Mich's Div 2 win in race 6 saw him beat the 1st Taipan, be only 30 seconds behind the 1st A and be 2min 36sec behind the 1st Viper. cool cool
