Posts: 50 Brisvegas | QLD | Hi there,
It appears we are going to have 3 on the water and another soon.
Damo, Brett and David please check mossie website, I will update calendar to list where I was planning to sail.
And let me know what suggestions you have as to trying to sail together where possible.
I am giving the RQYS Green Island Marathon a run this Saturday and then want to get down to Southport and sail with Brett.
Is David the mossie that made it out to Samsonvale for the New Years Regatta?, saw it in the results.
Unfortunately could not make it this year.

Posts: 104 gold coast | hi dave it was my first race on the mosquito on saturday at southport we had two races race one we were late to the start by about 10 minutes due to some rigging issues we ended up beating one cat and only about two minutes behind another two cats
race two had a good start by the top mark in third place and with some bad tacking we finished in 5 th drew 1635 helped with some rigging advice which was very helpful damien 1820 was there helping us rig you boat which was a realy big help becaues with out his help we would have been 20 minutes behind the start damien is very keen to get his mosquito running now because us three are now sailing and he was talking to other people at the club and it seems to be more people seriously considering mosquitos drew is trying to set up a calendar for us QLD mosquitos to race together if we can get 5 or 6 mosquitos at a club day we may have you own division there is no cat sailing at southport for 3 weeks do know if there is any sailing at your club soon thanks

Unregistered | Hey guys,
great to hear you are getting some Mossies together. If Drew's enthusiasm is anything to go by, you will keep building.
How about for something to keep you going over this winter, you all plan to do do the Wildcat Regatta at Forster (NRL Grand Final weekend) and a few Vics could make the big road trip up to join you.

Posts: 76 Qld | Hi Brett. Good to see you have all gotten together. One thing that I would like to get this year is a spinnaker set-up.Ineed to buy the spinnaker and the sheets, than cut the pole to length(an old sailboard mast) ,this way we can have four mossies with spinnakers kicking butt. Unregistered | I'ts the biggest mixed cat regatta in OZ, has been going a long time, run by Great Lakes Sailing Club, do some Googling and you should find past info (may not have this years yet, but is much the same most years), is a long weekend for NSW and QLD.
I have been there a few times in the past with some other Mossies, sailing is ok, main attraction is the number of cats and variety, just amazing. Probably get 3 or so Vic Mossies the rest is up to you. | | | Re: SEQ Sailing 2013

Posts: 87 Gold Coast QLD | Hi Brett, glad you wern't to late for the start but at least you had fun. Always a pleasure catching up with drew "buzzing around 100 mph" Hopefully weather permitting we will be gel-coating the mould and tie layer in ready for the skins and foam core, The foam bulk heads are laminated ready for cutting out so long story short well under way. Some of the guys I race sportboats with are looking for a one man cat to race in between regattas and want to use the mould to build some boats after seeing you guys on Saturday. There is talk of builds after the Aussie titles at Easter so id better hurry up. As for boat numbers things are looking good for a fleet of Mozzies in SEQ. The Wild Cat regatta, I herd over 90 boats on the water last year, I for one would love to go if the boat is ready and would love to meet some of the Vic Mozzies. See you guys soon on the water. Cheers Damo
