Any and all persons interested in participating in, assisting with, or otherwise just wanting to voice your opinion-
I need to pick a Spring US regatta to "debut" the F16 HP class, have an organizational meeting, and hopefully network with (at least some) of the other US Formula classes.
So far most people who have responded have indicated they thought Nigel's Spring Fever Regatta in Georgia would be the best site but at least one person suggested the "After Worrell Regatta" in Virginia Beach- SO
Here's a poll on this forum first and then I will solicit input on the New General Forum- (Forgive me if this doesn't work- I'm a poll virgin!)

Okay, hopefully this worked and I will have your input soon-

Perhaps it may be earlier than you want, but the Tradewinds Midwinter Open Cat Nationals promises to have more boats than any other major regatta in the east this year -- probably due to the loss of Davis Island as in the past, and the fact that the weather is so bad/unpredictable in Georgia at that time of the year.
We already expect a great many open class type boats that will probably fall under F16, F18 and F20 formats.
For more info click on the following:
http://www.catsailor.com/tradewinds2002.html
Entry fee is only $30 single, $35 for two-up and all sailors (both skipper and crew) get t-shirts with the famous "I'd Rather be Sailing" cartoon on the back.

John-
Thanks for asking! You can see by the poll I didn't get much input! So I guess I'll just have to take the lead and make an executive decision and plan it. I WAS going to get your input since I really WOULD like to see a "presence" at the event by as many of the manufacturers/dealers as possible. Peter (Taipan) and Chip (BIM) in US have expressed interest as have you.
Rick (White) suggested the upcoming regatta in FL in Jan. but I'm afraid that's too soon although I hate to disappoint Rick :-(
The Regatta at Lake Hartwell in Georgia that is always so well attended and where the "A" cats made a splash last year (as well as the BIM 16?) I think is the earliest, big regatta that would work. Will this venue and date work for you (I figure you probably have the biggest logistical complications to attending)? If not, what dates/places would?
I would really like to "set" this and move forward on the planning-

No garantees guys but I think I come too. I'll have to find a boat to sail first but I'm sure there several looking for crew.

However you might need to keep the I-17R fleet and me seperated for I think mr Sam and mr Doug truelly want to kill me. That is if mr Laden lets me get to the US first.

Yeah, I might have a death wish ! (Joke)

But seriously, I will look seriously into it.
