Posts: 833 St. Louis, MO, | I bought one new for about $1800 last year. They are a pain to ship so getting it to someone is the biggest hassle. It costs about $180 to ship with a trucking company but you also have to box the thing somehow. I also recommend getting insurance if possible during the shipping. My first one I received had been run over by a truck, literally. So used I'd think it is worth about $1000.
I also sold my old comptip for about $400 I think.
List it in Catsailor and I bet it sells pretty quick. I would have bought it in a heartbeat last year after mine broke.

Posts: 1,911 South Florida & the Keys | Thanx Mike. I am in a quandry. I have a mast and tip that someome needs, I also have a new main and misc other parts that the same person needs. Would it be fair to part with new parts at 70% of value and used parts at 40%?

Posts: 833 St. Louis, MO, | It really depends on the part. Some parts like sails depreciate even if they are brand new. Other parts are really the same whether you buy them new or used like a daggerboard in perfect shape. However if you can get rid of all the parts at once you might make a bit of a deal so that you can be done with it.

Posts: 1,911 South Florida & the Keys | Thanx Mike... That is what I was lookin for. I have a bunch O' parts to vent, and I need to parlay into parts and sails I need. I think I will do best if I "part" it out vs sell the whole pile. My suit is falling apart, it seems that the man had no insurance and sold the boat a month after he squashed me... Now what?
