Hey Wave Sailors!

There are a couple of events coming up that should be good for Waves. We are assuming everybody knows about the Tradewinds and if you don’t its too late anyway. Let’s look ahead.

February 23 and 24 the Lake Eustis Sailing Club is hosting their annual Washington’s Day regatta. Their clubhouse is a tent with a porta potty, but they are a great group of folks and who put on a nice event. They hosted the Wildcat Regatta last October, and we had our own class with 5 Waves. Campers are welcome and there are some really cheap motels in town. Modern motels are a little farther away but still not too expensive. This is a good central location for the Florida Waves.

March 30 and 31 is the Spring Fever Regatta at Lake Hartwell, Georgia. For Florida sailors this is a long drive, but it is well worth the trip. Nigel Pitt goes all out with hospitality that is well above average. The venue is a state park that is open just for cat sailors that weekend. There are nice camping facilities with showers at the park. Inexpensive motels are about 5 miles away.

In June we will have Jetty Park and Daytona, and July we will have St. Augustine. You might want to pencil in the dates: 6/8-6/9, 6/29-6/30 and 7/20-7/21.

Please post a note indicating the events you plan to attend so that everyone can get an idea of whether to expect a class of Waves or not.
