What a great turnout Nigel is getting for the Spring Fever regatta. Steve Cooley from Denver is driving all the way to Georgia just to sail for three days. The drive alone takes five days (round trip).

Why is Nigel able to generate such enthusiasm? Because he has a great attitude, he knows that the PEOPLE and not the venue really make an event great and there are more events planned off the water than on it.

Hobie Alter Sr knew this too. It's why most of us really sail the boats. Not just for the screaming reaches but for the view of 100 boats of all shapes and sizes sharing in a unique experience and then talking about it over a beverage when the day is done.

Next time you are planning a local event make sure that the social schedule is at least as entertaining as the on the water action and I think we'll all find the sport growing again.

"Good on ya" Nigel and the SPRING FEVER TEAM!

Wish I could be there...

(If you are going please take lots of pictures and videos of the on AND off the water activisties and get them on the web!)

Best wishes to all of the competitors and race managers.
