I know that title makes no sense but considering I am a college student and don't have anywhere huge to store them I do have to many.

My primary boat is a Hobie 14T that I have added a small Laser spin to. I know that most of you guys looks down on the 14 because it wasn't that fast but considering I am carrying something close to 250sqft I think it will move pretty well. I know that 1-up I can out run alot of the bigger cats around.

My other boats are mostly junk. I bought them from a guy who had got them with his house. He had four boats sitting out back and I bought them all for $200.

One is an old aquacat, it is a slow peice of junk, but it has all the parts and I think my brother wants it. The boat that I was interested in was another 14, the hulls are mush but all the hardware is good for spare parts. Another one of them was an ancient pridle 16, I used the sails from my 14 one one time to take it out. I didn't like it compared to my 14, plus my dad wants it to make a floating duck blind. The 4th boat is an aluminium cat called a sizzler. It also came with everything including sails that are decent. The only problem with it is the foam in the hulls in waterlogged and it weighs close to 400lbs.

Well, there you have it, the list of my current cats. Can anyone think of a good way to remove the foam from the sizzler. I think it would be a fun cat if it didn't weigh so much.

Mice. I've seen mice eaten styrofoam insulation in a garage. Maybe poke the foam with some peanut butter on the end of stick to get them started. Oh, but mice might be afraid of a cat...

I for one, don't look down on 14's. Great boat. Hobie US should still be making them IMO.

Also, the people you need to look out for are the ones that DON'T have too many boats! Of coursre, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong...

Glad to hear that not everyone looks down on the H14. At the places I sail around OKC I get alot of bad looks. The worst ones are when I pass bigger boats.

I guess I don't have many cats compared to other people out there. And just so everyone know I just gave the aquacat to my little brother. He is 16 and has been so jealous of me having my 14. I told him to start with the aquacat and then if he likes it buy a 14 or something else. Looks like I may be putting on the wetsuit and heading out tomorrow to teach him to sail.

Trey:

Damm!! You must have a big back yard or a high storage fee like me? ($250) to keep three boats inside.

Hobie 17
Mystere 4.3
Sunfish

Next will be some kind of Corsair
And some kind of A cat

Doug

as for removing the foam. since the boat is aluminum. I would use a low presure sand blaster and a shop vac. i think that would work???

It would work if you could get access to the inside of the boat. You could possibly chemically melt it out - but what a mess and potential hazard that would be!

Thank you for the wonderful advice. But I have good news the foam has been removed! I thought of the same idea that avalondarlyn did.
I had to cut an access port in each hull, but that was no big deal, then I took a sandblaster at a low pressure and just started eating the foam away. It took about 6 hours but all the foam is out. After the sand blaster I used a high pressure water washer to get what was left and to clean it all up.

Now the boat is very light, compared to what it was before, but still heavier than my 14T. I have already taken it out once. I put on my wet suit and braved the cold. I was impressed by the boat but it just didn't feel quite right. Granted I took my little brother that bought the aquacat with me so maybe the boat isn't made for 2-up, but it was kinda slow and hard to get a hull up on. The good part is my brother liked it alot more than the aquacat. So it looks like he will be selling the aquacat and now he wants to buy the sizzler off me.

These boats move fast, on the water and from owner to owner!

Where do you sail around OKC? We are at Hobie Point at the south end of the lake (What there is of it), and I don't recall a H 14 flying a chute and I sure the [censored] don't recall one ever passing my NACRA 5.8na with the square top mylar main and 110% mylar jib. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

2 hobie 14's met their fates yesterday at Trey's boat lot, 1 14 was sold to a guy in Jacksonville, FL. So knock 3 boats from my list...but I am picking up a sunfish today...oh joy!

You all should highly anticipate my post tonight on "Anger Management."
