Posts: 118 St. Louis, MO | Great video BK!!
Could of picked a couple better looking chaps though!! Those two are scary looking!! I think their speed is attributable to their bald heads...less wind resistance!! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
(see you guys next weekend)

Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | JC, awesome man! That really was an entertaining watch. Questions though, you guys are really focused on keeping the mast in shape (and sound). You said and show that you even lock in the positive rotator with the spinnaker up - I've never even considered positive rotators unless it was light air and choppy - have you had an experience with mast problems without the rotator in heavy air?

Unregistered | Thanks everybody. Just lookin out for that next puff, I guess.
Jake, we lock it over because when you're double trapped the rotator sometimes goes centerline and the mast really starts to break off to leeward. When you travel way down with the mast centerline it's risky, so we lock it over. I personally haven't had any experience breaking sticks besides Jensen, but why take the chance? It was the 2001 W1000 going to cocoa we had a d-trap spin run and Jamie L. came over after and said we should lock it over because our mast looked really bent. Ever since then we locked it over because the last thing we wanted was an "I told you so" from Jamie. | | |
