What did Santa bring you?

Happy Christmas morning to everybody.

There was already a thread about what people want for Christmas. So now we need to find out what they actually got.

Personally, I am still waiting to open the large package, with my name on it, under the tree. I'm sure it has something to do with sailing. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I'll let you know.

An extremely excited three-year-old, two madly spinging nephews, good cheer and a warm house full of family.

On top of that, I got a gift certificate to Layline and some VS sleepwear (not for me to wear <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />).

P.S. my big package had nothing to do with sailing, except indirectly. It's like, when you get an electric razor, it helps to reduce windage; right?

Friends, family, opera tickets and a huge snowstorm. We got 30 inches of wet snow - more than I've ever seen in one storm in Boulder. It was so heavy that it snapped my boat trailer in two places. luckily there's no boat damage. I guess I'm getting myself a new trailer for post-Christmas.

Suppose my F16 was my xmas pressie.

Rick White's sailing seminars on DVD, a new harness from Magic Marine, 6:1 carbo set from Harken, and and Ipod. To no surprise, I spent all day today watching the DVD's, and racing on tacticat. Merry Christmas all!

He brought me a nice warm breeze so I went sailing! It was only for an hour but I had to do it, since my kids asked me yesterday what I wanted for Christmas, and I told them, "Some wind!" Shortly after I hit the beach the thunderstorms came. I hear they had a tornado wipe out 5 homes up north of Tampa. Any one hear the details?

Trying to tell you something?

i got some hobie sailing gloves and some money to buy a wetsuit or foul weather gear so that i can go sailing more at the beginning and end of the season out here in colorado, and i also got a boat cover for my H16. the sailing santa liked me this year i guess....but he didnt bring the new trampoline like i asked for....lol, oh well i got enough good sailing gifts already.

How's your back these days? Did the sailing help loosen it up? I think that's your new "physical therapy" - racing...!

This is "kinda" a sailing gift.

I got a used IRIDIUM Phone for Christmas because of all the "out of area" stuff I do. My wife wants us to make it possible to always be in touch with someone for emergency purposes so she mentioned it at work and one of her co-workers gave her this phone. My job is to learn about it and find out the cheapest way to maintain it.

Apparently there are two options: Maintain a plan or Buy Prepaid minutes. The phone came with a SIM card but it has no service attached to it.

So where do I go from here? If I just want to be able to get in touch with either the authorities (for rescue/emergency purposes) or let someone at home get in touch with me (if they are having an emergency) when I am out of the normal cell phone area what would be the easiest and cheapest way to go? Anyone?

New sailing booties (size 14 Gills! they FIT!) and a wad of cash suitable to purchase my Kokatat gore-tex drysuit.

Hobie 16 worlds DVD from the worlds in S.A.Excellent sailing footage.Also two Gull rash shirts from Catamaran sailor.

I never had to deal with the maintenance of them but just count on the call dropping after 15min. Occassionally the calls last longer, but say what you need to say fast <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Why didn't you get them on DVD. Tape will stretch from all the watching them. DVD will last forever if you don't scratch them.

I got a new trap harness, it will replace the old Hobie one I had been using.

Oh I forgot to mention that I got my fiancee a nice gill trap harness with safety button.

Stank, sailing feels good, especially out on the wire, but dragging that pig up the beach with no wheels is what hurts! I've got to get some kind of rollers for it but a real set of beach wheels would cost more than the boat! I finally found enough wind to get it moving though, just before the tornados came! No damage in Sebring but it wiped out Embry Riddle in Daytona.

Santa says for the kid to read up on his catamaran sailing, and put copies of "Catamaran Racing for the '90's" and "Sailing Drills" in my stocking, along with Garmin's MapSource software. On the non-nautical side, I got a dual-wavelength portable UV lamp (for rock hounding fluorescent minerals), various garments, and the gift that's always the right size and color...cash.

Got an F18 jib sail!!!

Tie a rope to a 4 wheeler and tow it up the beach with that thing.... Save the back for sailing.

It's so everybody gets to share the worm...

Late to the thread, but Santa brought me a nice waterproof duffel for keeping stuff dry on the boat!

Share the worm! Mike you are too funny! As for what I got, Christams came early when I got to sit next to my healthy nephew at thanksgiving after he did two tours in Iraq. Late to the thread also. Just got back from California after a very nice holiday visit with family. Santa was very good to me this year. A Ronstan start watch and a Christmas swell. The boat is packed away for the winter so this was the next best thing!

My wife is gunning for santa because they got here just in time for christmas and if I'm not reading Im watching or on the end of the phone on the boat. Must be the same one that zapped the wife's washing machine. She HAS to have a matching set as a replacement so it's off to Lowe's as soon as the sun comes up.

Suggest a front-loader - much less water usage, and because you're heating less water less power usage. They usually spin the clothes a little drier as well meaning the drier has less work to do, more energy saved...

I second Keith's recommendations. I just re-did my laundry room and didn't spend the extra couple of bucks for a good energy star model. regretted it ever since. Also, alot of the newer energy start front loaders are less noisy as well. I can hear my machine from the otherside of the house. Worst $250 bucks i've ever saved.

Did you ever see that TV add with the hospital waiting room full of husbands with wrong christmas presents stuck up their backsides. The vaccume cleaner looked very uncomfortable but if I gave my wife a washing machine there would be another in the waiting room <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
