Any word on the hogsbreath. Winds are suposed to be really light and all over the place. Is it possible that you will drop the North leg to Tavernier because of the light winds?

Why would they do that if it is going to be a true 100-mile event? Wht does light air have to do with it?

The forcast is for 1-3 mph until 3:00pm. I have never seen a forcast for a distance race that low. I have been in those conditions but not seen it forcasted. The wind is not suposed to be over 5 mph the entire day.
I am more of a believer in point to point racing instead of harping on the distance. With a 10am start, the current weather forcast would have them getting back to the starting line at the end of the day and to the finish line after midnight.
This is just an option I am sure they are thinking about.

They have modified the course after a postponement today. See the story on the welcome page

The first day was canceled due to zero winds. It actually picked up to 5kts at 4pm.
Tomorrow they are scheduling a 8am start from Islamorada straight down to Key West. approx 80nm. The weather forecast isnt all that great either. Max wind speeds 10kts. Team Tiki (not Tikipete ) called it quits and so did we; Joe Leonard and myself. I am at home and he is on his way to St Louis first thing tomorrow morning.

Ok I've been patient for 2 days now and no posts about the race?
I know you had good wind on Sunday and we saw some of the boats go by my campground at Curry Hammock between 8 and 9,
so how was the race and party at Hogsbreath?

There were only four boats, and they did an 80-mile, one-day shot from Islamorada to Key West.
Winning team was Mike Phillips/Steve Lohmayer on a Marstrom 20. Their elapsed time was 4 hours 38 minutes, so there must have been some wind.
2nd was a Nacra 6.0NA with spin, Dennis Green/Jason Childers.
3rd was a Supercat 20 tall rig, with squarehead and spin, Robert Behrend/Doren(sp?) Campbell.
4th was a Nacra 20 "Cat in the Hat", with Larry Ferber/Jackson Smith.
Finish positions were the same on both elapsed and corrected times.
Sorry, I wasn't there, at either start or finish, so can't fill you in on any details.

Hi Mary,
It was Drew Campbell on the SC20.

Thanks. When Warren called in the information to me, he could not read the name, so he sort of guessed at it.
