Worrell 1000?

Any chance or word that the Worrell 1000 will return any time soon?

As much as many might hope for a Worrell 1000 or a similar race to take place, I do not think that it will ever happen again under that title. You have definately broached a subject that has been covered in many other threads over the last few years with lively comments and feelings. You might try searching the forum for some of the other threads, but as to it running again, I would be surprised if it did. On the East Coast you have the Tybee 500 that is filling in as one of the distance races.

Thanks! Yes... after posting (what I feel is now a stupid question), I found the Tybee 500. There used to be a similar race here in Texas, but for the life of me can't recall the name. Lots of GREAT stories about it live on though.

and not to mention the not-so-great Texas, the longest party on the southern Texas coast (and maybe the longest non-motorized party in the world), Ruff Rider! It's still held each Labor Day in South Padre - format's a little different now but the race lives on!
