Ruff Rider coming up

The most laid-back "short" long-distance race on the Texas coast leaves the fabled Mud Flats of South Padre Island at 11 am Saturday September 1st, and arrives back there Sunday the 2nd. No, it's no longer a one-way race to Corpus, but the spirit of "up the ditch" lives on. The Saturday-night campout is on the Gulf side of South Padre just south of the Narrows; non-spin boats have a course around 40 miles and the big dogs have a bit over 60 after rounding the welcome buoy at the Mansfield channel.
