Wood Boats?

Not to stir up the monohull debate or anything.

Anyone own or sail a class X?

My grandmother bought one of the early X boats in the mid-late 1940's and sailed it for many years. After more than half a century, she's still got the boat in the garage. It's seen better days, but still seems fairly solid.

I have a hobie 16 and a sunfish that I sail, and have been contemplating reviving the old X boat. I don't know. Perhaps the fireplace is a better spot for the old boat?

Not sure what to do with it. Haven't had any luck finding it a new home. Even tried putting it on ebay with a $1 reserve a while back. The garage space could be better utilized with my gHetto 16. I've no where to store my boats, a she offers free boat storage, provided I come for dinner a couple nights a week.

Anything but the fire!!!

"Wooden Boat" magazine has a section in their classifieds for boats "free to a good home".

Talk to these guys. They have been building and reparing these types of wood racers for a looong time.

I think they might have built it to begin with. I think it's an old Johnson.

Try Viagra and have your wife polish your old Johnson. I bet you'll find plenty of life left in the old "boat". <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
