'06-'07 VYC yardsticks

Just a minor technicality...
It should be noted these are not exactly managed by Yachting Australia, they are managed by Yachting Victoria which is the state organisation affiliated with Yachting Australia. They are however the handicap system that pretty much everyone in Aus uses.

Hi Simon,

you should have PM'd me. You may as well have the up to date ones, 07'-08' where put up a few weeks ago, there are some subtle changes for cats. http://www.yachtingvictoria.com.au/site/yachting/vic/downloads/Yardsticks07_08.pdf

I'm not sure what the subtle changes are. But I still think that these ratings are probably the fairest and most accurate numbers for Cats world-wide. Anybody beg to differ?

For racing Cats vs Mono. Yes totally.

Cat to Cat, maybe but I prefer SCHRS (well I would <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> ) as it's not based on crew skill factor as well as boat speed.

anyone with an older version with the nacra 5.2 listed?

presume it isn't there as no one is racing them anymore:o(

Re: Link to the Aus Handicap numbers ? - 12/28/07 07:40 AM

The Nacra 5.2 was last listed at 79 by Yachting Victoria in the 05/06 season. Even then it was only in the archived list as no results had been received since 2003. 5.2's haven't been raced in any numbers for about 15 years in Australia. However I think a good one well sailed with crisp sails should be able to compete at 79. The link to the old numbers is here.
