Dart 18 Hull Identification Numbers

Dart 18 Hull Identification Numbers - 06/30/08 04:55 AM

I've got a Dart 18 with no hull identification number on the hull, only a handwritten number inside each hull, each a unique number. Is this standard Dart practice? The transoms do not seem altered or repaired in any way that might have obliterated any original number.

How do you register and/or title a boat like this in the USA?

How can I get insurance in Florida if I don't have any hull ID #, no title (few cats have titles in Florida), nor any registration numbers (none required in Florida for vessels without motors)?

Suddenly I feel neked! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Thats normal for the darts. They had individual hull production numbers written on the inside of the hulls.

As Twister said. Newer hulls have a stamped number ouside at the rear end of each hull. Each hull has its own number. You will find these numbers as well in the measurement certificate, which is signed by the dealer. If you have only the sail number, you could contact the manufacturer for the original hull numbers.

Regarding insurance, speake with the insurance agent, he will be happy to make an individual contract with you <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />.

Cheers,
