Gahh! They name the Tornado "Flop" on page 2, becouse ISAF have ditched it from the 2012 games! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Does anyone know when(or if) sailing will be on TV?

Direct TV has an "On Demand" feature. If you have a HD-DVR and it's hooked up to the internet you can access five or six channels of Olympic coverage.

I haven't looked at the scheduled programming yet but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll show some.

Direct tv on demand, Olympics

From the NBC site, it looks like there will be sailing coverage "on-line" 10pm-12:15am PST nearly each night. Not sure where to go to actually watch the on-line coverage yet.

According to NBC we will have live feeds online for sailing almost every day.

http://www.nbcolympics.com/sailing/index.html - go to Local coverage then sailing...

Yngling and Finn start Friday at 10 pm to 4 am...

We will see how good the quality is.

Not sure what you are doing wrong, but hang in there. The Silverlight works very nice. It installed easily for me in FireFox and IE. You can time shift to any point and the video plays immediately. You can also view up to 4 events simultaneously, pretty neat. The only thing I haven't figured out is how to make it go full screen, which would be nice as I'm watching it on the plazma.
I watched the Yngling race to get familiar with the player. The coverage is excellent from arial overhead, on boat, and chase boat views. You get the entire race from beginning to end. I got to say, Yngling racing is like watching grass grow, but it did get interesting at the C mark (mark 2). I can't wait to watch the Tornados. (see attached)

RE Silverlight not working: It's now OK!
I accidentally got the original sign-up screen back with a e-note saying I was not USING CABLE TV. If you use an antenna for TV (here out in the boonies) and click on that= NO SERVICE.

Did quick check and got Silverlight to run on Firefox, IE, Opera and Safari.

I am accessing through the NBC site, clicking the date of event, then event.

It should give you the option to watch "rewind" or live. Watched the 49er races last night live. Appears that they are doing only one 'Featured " fleet per day - but last night was wire to wire coverage of 3 49er races was much better than all past US sailing olympic coverage combined.

FYI if you are pumping the feed through to a plasma TV and have Vista Home Premium or Ultimate you can use Media Center to get the image full screen with additional picture in picture.

I'm using XP on a notebook which does have Media Center. Not sure how or if I can get full screen with MC (without Vista).
I likewise, watched the 49er races this morning using the rewind link. Really enjoyed the coverage. You get a good sense of angles, speeds, position and closing speeds from the helicopter view. . . . sure were alot of penalty turns at the A mark.
