Not new to forums but new to this one.....
I'm half a century old and have been sailing as long as I can remember....
The last four years I've owned a 1989 Catalina 42, and put some 6000 miles on her, almost half of it solo, and most of it between Rock Hall MD, and Fort Lauderdale FL and all but 100 miles of that outside. (I'm 6 in oh with Hatteras.....shhhhhh!)
But, kids (10/15) are starting to get a life of their own, and putting them through an independent school and college around the corner means we 1: Don't get to sail as a family enough, 2: Can't afford a mega yacht sitting in a marina. Subject to survey she will be sold in a few weeks.
Soooo, back to trailer sailing. (Before the 42 I had a Catalina 250 water ballast on a trailer) But, I've always been intrigued by the fast tri's. Many mango seasons ago I raced two man 18 foot monos, and I remember the thrill of planing down hill with a small chute up.....
So now I'm looking for a F27 that needs some tlc or a Corsair24....... I have all the tools and have fixed up a boat or two......
